Metro stations of Kirovo-Vyborgskaya line were put placed in the operation in 1975. These stations were all similar to each other and had 2 entrances. But one of them (“Ploshad Muzhestva”) has changed its look because of the construction of new house.
The construction of new house began at the end of 1980-s and metro station lobby was planned to be included into part of the house. But these plans have not become true for some reasons, and metro entrance has been left at the back of the house.
You can see it yourself if you come to the yard of house 17/1 on Politechnycheskaya street. You will see the “true face” of metro station lobby. The eastern entrance can be found in the yard as well. It is closed since the very times of house construction (see first photo).
To your attention there is a fragment of Leningrad atlas of 1981. This is how Ploshad Muzhestva looked at those times!
