The sculpture of a slender young man named New Century is part of the composition at the corner of Mokhovaya and Belinskogo streets. It includes the fountain River of Time, which consists of two granite pylons with the words "The Twentieth Century" and "The Twenty-First Century" and the figure of a teenager looking skywards, symbolizing the dreams of the future and the new millennium. The opening ceremony took place on April 13, 2000. Sculptor E. N. Rotanov. Architects V. L. Spiridonov, E. V. Vasylkovskaya. The height of the statue is 180 cm. Not long ago unknown "guardians of morality" dressed the boy in leotard of cheerful colors. Apparently, they have taken into account the location of the statue (there is a circus on the opposite bank of Fontanka River). Now the figure is washed. I haven’t seen by myself, but heard many times that when it is raining our New Century turns into Manneken Pis.

mimaxi, (28.07.2011 at 16:03) 1— когда его установили и еще работал фонтан . мы его называли "описывшийся мальчик" , тк в отличие от брюссельского не был очевиден источник вытекания жидкости.

— А чуть правее мальчика, если стоять к нему лицом, под неприметной вывеской "ФИТНЕС" находится гей-сауна. Очень символично ))

— В Атриуме Комендантского дома Петропавловской крепости ДО 2 СЕНТЯБРЯ ещё можно увидеть "Новый век" О.Родена ( даже 2 скульптуры ) и многие другие работы мастера ( + его графика !) . Спешите . кто не успел 1
