This house is clearly seen from the distance. There’s a green flag with a white cross fluttering on the house spire – this is the Tax House currently. The architect directories would inform you that originally this was a wing of N. Vadbolskaya’s mansion. The original architect was N. Arkhangelsky, but in 1886 the house was rebuilt in the eclectic shapes by A. von Gogen. Later there were several reconstructions held. It’d be fascinating to glance at the interiors decoration, but most likely, not much of it is left. But I do invite you to try to get into the inner yard through the arch on the right. There’s something just fantastic over there – in the small territory there’s a staircase, leading to the far corpus, the terrace and a little garden. Indeed, a professional landscape designer must have worked here. Being in the yard, one can feel being teleported to the different longitudes and countries. I uploaded the old picture taken in 1995. I have no idea how it is now. The securities are letting no one in.

Linok, (01.12.2011 at 22:39) 0— Случайно зашли в этот двор. Только до ступенек дошли, нам мужчина сделал замечание, что нельзя на эту территорию заходить, потом вообще охранник вышел. Мы испугались и ушли... Вот все, что успели сфоткать.

— они тогда были небольшими - и не загораживали само здание. Нам тоже тогда не дали попозировать , так что все было сделано на бегу )))
