Here’s a modern look at the house of Basseynaya street community on 58-60 Nekrasova street. Before talking about the building of the house, its architects let’s remember the stories of the hard after Revolution years, spent here. Odoevtseva wrote, “It used to be freezing cold in these posh interiors!”
They were freezing, but lived the full, inspired life. One could order the memorial service for – it’s hard to believe – Nekrasov the poet, in the half-dark church among the old ladies assisting. Or wander around the desert alleys of Tavrichesky Park, discussing the rhyming problems of world importance. And the house itself, the intricate curves of its buildings dispose to escape from such strict and beast everyday reality. Perhaps, it can be due to the grey colour, or the strange sculptures on the facades with their mystical influence on the human being. The house is obviously created by talented people (the author group of Bubyr’, Zazerski, Vasiliev, etc.). There’s nothing wrong about the building, only grace and style in every detail and the general design of the buildings. It was built at the time when the short intensive Silver Age was about to finish, and the age-aggressor was approaching, sweeping away “all the high intends” of the art society. The awful war completely erased the entire atmosphere. And only the fingertips or the eyes-corners of the modeled Assyrians have hidden the tiny evidence of that mythical pre-revolution time.

Но все таки может стоило рассказать, что улица Некрасова раньше называлась Бассейной? а в Некрасовском парке были бассейны и фонтаны, для обслуживания которых были построены эти здания? Про сгоревший театр во дворе? про ассирийские мотивы в декоре?нэ?
